The refreshed Tesla Model S is perhaps the most minimalist vehicle in history. Without a traditional steering wheel, turn signals and stalks it has become a polarizing vehicle with everyone having an opinion on it. Today we meet one of the first refresh Model S owners in the world who has been driving the vehicle for more than 5 months for the good, the bad and the ugly.

What a wonderful person Jedda is! Thank you so much for interviewing her. She has many wonderful things to say and some well deserved criticisms. I don’t understand the Tesla fans that are not able to take some Tesla criticism, especially since they don’t have a yoke themselves!
Keep up the great work Kim! The Tesla community needs all of the woman that they can get, that goes for you, for Jedda and for everyone else out there.

She is spot on about everything, the Tesla community, the company and the car. Love her and her car!

Only had my new "S" for about 45 days but just I figured out a great way to "Temp" resolve and greatly help, what most of us feel is the 'Displaced" horn button.
At any Home depot, get some VERY THIN CLEAR SPACERS and I put a little one, a little bigger then the HORN button right on the wheel. It's not really noticeable but definitely IS very helpful in raising the button, while NOT taking away from the beauty of the yoke ! Hope this helps you all, it definitely helped me !

Excellent video. That lady was cool. I picked up my '22 Model 3 LR last Friday (I LOVE it!) and there was a new red Model S outside the front door. All I can saw is wow. It was breathtaking. Thanks for your channel. Merry Christmas!

After owning mine for almost 4 months, I’m finally 100% used to the buttons on the steering wheel so I don’t have to look anymore. I wasn’t a fan at first but now it’s natural.

Its spot on. I have had my S for a few weeks now and I echo her sentiments. The lack of stalks and yoke is just a muscle memory thing. When I got the car PPF, Ceramic, and tint, I used a standard wheel and stalk set up and it was odd. The rear system is good for kids, right now. If the rear screen is given control, the rear screen controls the sound. The games are not set up yet from what I see. The build quality is not up to Mercedes/Audi/BMW quality but its plenty good. The tech is better, the map is amazing, the voice control is excellent. The sound system is right up there with the Burmeister and B&W systems found in Mercedes and Volvo. Overall its the best daily driver car I have ever had. I love it. But no car is perfect and Tesla is still a new company and for me its the customer service, the service locations and continuing the supercahrger build out that are the major things Tesla needs to improve. I also would like to see the rear taillights upgraded and I would like to see the button placement changed on the yoke. The horn in the center makes sense and to have the right turn signal on the right and the left turn signal should be on the left. That would make it super intuitive.

Great review! Love that her take on the car and that she comes from a Mercedes. I think comparison with higher end cars is the relevant comp, since they share the same price point. Thanks Kim!

The horn honks when u cover the entire right side of the yoke with your palm.

I have a Plaid. Its the most amazing machine I have every known, with the worst build quality I can imagine. My car has around a dozen trim issues. I still love it. Hopefully many fixed with the service center appointment in January.

I like the idea of raised dots on the yoke buttons.
That would make it much easier to hit the correct button.

If you look at every place a yoke is used you will note that they never require a full rotation… I used to fly light aircraft and I can tell you that 50 degrees either side of dead centre is all you ever do. There’s a reason we use a wheel when we need to make full revolutions of something…

Waiting on my refeshed Model X so it was nice to hear her point of view regarding the yoke steering. What a great interview! Thanks to both of you for doing this.

Great review, I like that you are interviewing a real long-term owner as well as giving your first impressions! I will say that the yoke is still my biggest reason as to why I would not move from my MY to a new S or new X. It feels too inconvenient and having zero stocks just feels dangerous. I do agree that the horn should be where the steering wheel airbag is and not a button. Lastly, the rear screen feels small and in a very inconvenient location for passengers. In a long road trip, necks will be hurting!😂

Cover the whole right side to use horn in emergencies

I think Tesla needs to bring back the normal horn and the stalks for blinkers, wipers, high beam, and shifting.

Thank you Kim. I just got my refresh model S Saturday the 11th of December. I'm happy with the car and I agree with Jetta The yoke takes some getting used to, everyday I drive it, it gets easier. Because of your channel, I may be driving all the way to Atlanta to AP3 to get my car wrapped from fort Lauderdale. 😀 I appreciate what you do. Thank you.

For sharp turns, just use one finger to turn the wheel. Inside either side of the yolk.

I agree YOLO. I ordered a model Y after owning a p85 for a few years and 120, 000 miles. Then I had a massive heart attack. 2 stents in and another scheduled before the end of the year. My original date was July 22 then June. Then the real one March 12-April 9. I kept in contact with my sales advisor and said. I know some people will push on hopes of that phantom tax break. Keep me in mind. I sold my Tesla. I have the cash. And. I am getting my Y on Friday. In 2 So excited
