Lionel Davis dedicated to the pursuit of freedom

Artist, political prisoner, struggle stalwart and activist, Lionel Davis, says he has dedicated his life to the pursuit of freedom, not just for all in South Africa, but also to express himself.

At the age of 88, Davis still produces art, but makes a living by giving talks.

He says it is vital that there is knowledge about the history of South Africa, what the liberation of the country and it's people entailed, and what still needs to be achieved.

Some of his work, including posters created during apartheid, forms part of the University of the Western Cape and Robben Island Museum Mayibuye Archives.
