Love this guy. His commonsense and intellect is very refreshing. Why can't our paid politicians come up with solutions like this? (And sell those ideas to the public.)

Charles, you make some good points, but fail to identify the " Root Cause" of most  problems citizens are facing. You are right in that health insurance must be bought in the same way we buy car insurance, but that only fixes half of the root cause. The REAL FIX will come when all players can disclose prices over the MSM and internet. I want to see a pregnancy package that lasts 12 months, and then is discharged. I want to see a package for 18-25 year olds which have small premiums. In order to get this GIANT LOCOMOTIVE to slow down, you need everyone to disclose their numbers. When this happens, all of the cream on the top of the really big profits will be eliminated due to competition. The one thing you have got to look out for is two or three big guys knocking everyone out of the game, and forming a monopoly.

Good points. My former GP was a part of a small physicians group. Practically overnight their malpractice insurance skyrocketed. The CEO of the group decided to shut the practice down and go into specialization. Two of the other doctors in the group, one of whom was my doctor, decided, "To hell with this, " and just retired.

I think a change to the delivery system must be made. For a lot of things people should not be cluttering up full blown hospital ER's. Have more small clinics staffed by nurse practitioners, or add at least another qualification between doctors and nurses. Maybe that could lower costs.

I'm OK with some level of "socialized, " if you want to call it that, provision. Really, I think such a thing is already available in most communities.

actually this was quite informative and Tucker stuck to the subject without blaming Obama or the fake media for every problem in the US. I learnt about the wastage of 25% of costs in care and did you note how Charles slipped in that Medicare should look after the sick and poor. Now if the US expanded Medicare to cover those with preconditions and all that couldn't afford insurance you would have the start of healthcare for all. Imagine saving 300-500 billion dollars a year it would pay for Medicare expansion. T

Although Krauthammer "hammers" Trump too much and too often, on this subject of "Obamacare" he is VERY knowledgeable and is VERY correct !! He SHOULD be in charge of formulating a new plan to be passed by he HAS the experience. Krauthammer has suffered great tragedy in his life and has achieved many significant things in spite of it. He would be the perfect person to do this....I hope someone brings this idea to the President .
