What does it mean to rotate your tires?
Tires wear out. But they do not wear evenly. Constant contact with the road abrades the surface of all the tires on a vehicle, but the position of the tires makes a difference, and so does the type of vehicle. For instance, a front-wheel-drive car places more weight and strain on the front tires, whereas a rear-wheel-drive truck may allow the rear tires to spin out more often than the front tires. The front tires of any vehicle are subject to increased wear because they turn with the steering wheel and receive more force when cornering.
