Im happy with my Boss VE8. Covers my guitar needs with a great compressor, reverb, and light chorus. Also handles my vocal tone admirably. Add the fact that it has additional inputs for either a keyboard, laptop, or phone and im golden... Plugs straight into my powered speakers and/or acoustic combo amp (usually as a monitor). Boss is boss.

Nice demonstration and explanation. I have come full circle when it comes to acoustic guitar sound. When I first started playing acoustic guitar, I played without any effects at all. And then progressively added effects such as reverb and chorus, and sometimes some others, such as flanger and delay. But after a while, I realized that the attraction of acoustic guitar is the acoustic guitar tone itself, and that effects can really detract from this sound. So now I focus on things like warmth, compression, and fine-tuning the mid range. I use an LR Baggs Venue and also an LR Baggs Session DI. I’m underwhelmed by a lot of acoustic guitar amps and found myself either using a PA, or a Roland KC 80. Although this is originally intended to be a keyboard amp, I find it is excellent for amplifying acoustic guitar. The end result is a nice warm, woody sound which in my opinion is the attraction of the acoustic guitar in the first place.

I've been playing guitar for 50 years. I'm looking to gain basic understanding as to what I need to do to make my sound better when performing. These terms are above my head. I don't know anyone locally that I could gain knowledge from.

I sold my whole pedalboard and bought Quad Cortex from neural DSP. Never looked back. That pedal changed everything. I use plugin effects, reverb, delay, chorus, looper, boost, compressor, stereo IR, captures of acoustic preamps.... very easy to use and to dial amazing sound. :)

Sounds nice. My acoustic pedalboard has a Nux Stageman, Polytune, and a Strymon Flint. It’s powered by a truetone cs7.

Very true not a lot out there on acoustic rigs. Love your Taylor BTW. I trimmed down my pedalboard that was huge and heavy. I went with the Daddario expandable which is a little larger than yours. The Stomp is the heart of my rig. Since I do both electric and acoustic, I have a few additional pedals. A strymon cloudburst for ambient reverb and pad effects. For electric I recently added the Tonex1 which has great amp captures. However I have a specific preset in my HX Stomp for acoustic. It took me a good year of experimenting and working with my acoustic signal chain to deal primarily with the problems with Piezo pickup system. I have a Taylor 810CE. Have used it for 20 years for all kinds of worship settings.

Might be worth looking into acoustic IRs. I’ve found it to be a cool way to get a miced up guitar sound rather than the limitations of eq with a piezo

I did copy your preset on my Pod-Go. Sounds great. Thank you so much... 🙂

I'm doing something similar for my acoustic electrics... Instead of the HX Stomp, I'm using the Boss GT-1000 Core for much deeper control over everything and all the Boss drive pedals packed into it that do an excellent job of giving my acoustics some "edge" when I want it... For some reason, the Boss drive effects lend themselves much better to acoustics than the rest... Check it out if you get the chance...

Your setup is really cool. I've been playing keys in church most of my life and started playing acoustic guitar in church a few years ago. I play either keys or guitar depending on the need each Sunday.

My acoustic rig features the LR Baggs Voiceprint DI and the zoom ac3. Currentlt using my Yamaha fgx800ce but im experimenring with my Art and lutherie roadhouse demin parlor guitar too.

Cheers

Beautiful Taylor you have. I really like the 324. I play in church with a Larrivee OM through a simple NUX Acoustic Stageman pedal which gives you a nice reverb and chorus if you want it. I also have a Headrush Core I recently bought and I am working on building some acoustic rigs. Nice job here on the video 👍 Michael Westbrook has a great video on the HX Stomp for building acoustic sound. He plays for Crowder on tour.

I have both the Stomp and the Atmosphere. Thanks for this video! Any chance you could export the settings you showed here on your Stomp and send it to me? I downloaded several patches, but they tend to be "too much" and looking fot something more subtle like your presets. Thanks!

Nic and simple setup. I play electric. The cheaper/budget alternative is having autopad/autopad app on your phone. If u playing live Setup yo phone to Do Not Disturb while connecting the phone via Aux /OTG cable to the PA System.

Thanks for using Truetone, Mike! Great video. I had never heard of the Atmosphere before... very cool! If you ever need help with power supply questions, feel free to reach out. - Bob Weil
