Cisco Access Point AP conversion from LAP lightweight to autonomous mode

I needed and access point for wireless A mode. I picked this up for $19. It came in LAP or lightweight mode. in LAP mode it requires a separate wireless controller. It lightweight mode it pretty much a dummy AP. If want to convert the access point to Autonomous or AP mode follow these directions. Dude it would have made sense to show us how you did it instead of doing the conversion first ans then showing us what you did. Also, can this be done by connecting the AP directly to your Laptop or do you have to use a switch for this to work?

Does the Ethernet cable from PoE port of the AP has to be connected to a PoE switch or will the external power cable on the AP be sufficient enough? I seem to keep running into a brick wall with this as seen
