Great point to reward good instead of focusing on outcome/failure. It always takes a courage to get out of comfortable zone to do something to show your abilities. Even if nobody notices them, keep striving if passion moves you from inside.

This type of thinking is very common in most former Soviet countries. The focus is always on one’s weaknesses instead of strengths. I never liked that kind of mental judgement because it only damages and does not define one’s potential or capabilities. In that aspect Western culture is very empowering, encouraging and focuses on students strengths instead of being critical for their weakness. Such behaviors damages students inner world and limits their growth.
