In Australia we can only keep natives, so i get excited whenever someone posts a video about our native snakes. It's so hard to find current, detailed information on so many of our natives.

I used to be obsessed with spotted pythons and I could never find a good care guide, so I appreciate this video. Also, I think it would be neat if you did a “how to handle a snake properly” video for all the noobs like me out there.

"why do you watch this channel" he asks as if my life isn't a complete mess. Bruh you have arguably the best reptile channel on YouTube, that's why we watch it

Just got my Spotted Python and he’s adorable. What really amazes me is how damn active they are. Despite being nocturnal, he’s always out and about during the day, and always comes out to say hi when you walk in the room.

After the Dumeril’s boa, these have to be the most under appreciated snakes in the North American pet trade.

Hey bro. I just wanted to say I follow a lot of different pages who go over reptiles and reptile care, and your page is by far my favorite. You make it actually enjoyable to watch, while others can be boring. Plus we all like your sense of humor. Keep it up! Take care from San Francisco

“Did you know that animals last longer if you feed them”

Really animals don’t just die in 2 weeks

I remember seeing a lot of people having Ball Python, but not a Spotted Python, and this is a first(and is pretty *cool.*)

Hey Adam. King snake care guide would be cool. I know they’re pretty easy, but my boyfriend just got his first snake and he got a Cali king that looks a lot like yours in the background of this video.

I’m not very creative. I named my children’s python Aussie. He eats really well. Was a little nippy as a baby but has pretty much gotten over it. I am using Reptichip and spray it down a couple times a week I don’t really keep it damp in there.

Great video as always. I just got my little 6 month old male children's a little over a week ago and have him in a 20 gallon with a whole bunch of plants and branches and cork. This was really refreshing to make sure I was doing everything correctly and he's such a calm, curious, and stunning little snake!! also eats like a pig. i've always wanted a more unique snake than the typical ball python or corn snake and one that doesn't get too big, this is the perfect snake!! (for me)

I've had my children's python for 6 years this year, she just turned 7, and I think maybe is finally close to the same size as her parents, who I got to meet. She's super awesome, everyone I've ever had come over says they do not like snakes, but they adore her. Funnily enough, never had good luck with rats with her, but adult mice are her go-to. I can count on one hand how many times I've had issues with her not eating the mice, and every time the mouse was clearly not warm enough for her standards, which was easily fixed. Probably my favorite underrated reptile, though I wish we had some of the pretty morphs that Australia has.

These are everywhere on the QLD coast, in the house all the time. Curious, nocturnal, quiet. Will usually just retreat back the way it came when spotted.

Just to add to this video,
Spotted Pythons are the biggest out of all Antaresia Pythons, so the enclosure shown would be great for Spotteds and Childreni. But Stimsons and Pygmys can be in slightly smaller enclosures (but bigger is always better)

They also don't need humidity and shouldn't be put in a humid enclosure unless you want to be dealing with a respiratory infection. You can add a humid hide if the snake is going through a bad shed, but generally the natural humidity in the air will be fine. (With that said I live in Australia so I'm not sure what Americas humidity is like in comparison to Australia, so keep that in mind. But if you're watching this from Australia. Don't worry about humidity :)

Also, thank you for the great video. I watch so many videos on Snakes I cannot get here in Australia and I am always in awe of them. But it's also really awesome to see videos every now and then on Australian snakes. Keep up the great work ^_^

Thanks for this video. I love my Children's python, and this is just what I wanted to make sure I'm taking care of him right. I hadn't planned on getting a python, but when I saw this guy I immediately was drawn to him. They are such awesome little pythons! I also have a kingsnake, and would love to see a care guide about those. You could do a general care guide for all Lampropeltis kings and just briefly mention the species/subspecies that are more common as pets (eastern, California, Mexican black, Florida, etc.)

I’m in Australia and would loooove to keep a Pygmy Python but my wife has some kind of weird aversion to me keeping dead mice in the freezer
