As for the PAST tense, is the PERFEKTI (compound tense) normally used in colloquial/spoken Finnish?

Can the PERFEKTI and the IMPERFEKTI be used interchangebly?

Opettaja, toinen opittunti etta me tarvitsemme on... (another lesson we need is...)

1. I CUT my finger WITH a knife.

2. I BURNED my hand WITH an iron (clothes iron).

3. I HURT my knee.

4. I BROKE my leg.

5. I HIT my arm on the wall.

6. I FELL off the ladder, off the bed, off the chair.

7. I FELL on the floor.

Why pöydässä (inessive) and not pöydällä (adessive)?
