Fun fact: In the largest lake in Finalnd (4th largest in Europe) there are actually seals, though critically endangered. This is because in the last ice age the ice was so heavy it pushed down the land itself. When the ice melted the land started rising again (this is why the Nordics have so many islands). Seals normaly lives in the sea but these seals got trapped in this lake due to the land rising, and they’re as a result evolved into a subspecies.

Finland is one of the few countries in the world that calls itself a diferent name, "Suomi" i heard that it was the original word for "swamp" but it got shortened over time to "Suo" (i live in Finland and you find Lakes, ponds and rivers EVERYWHERE)
as for Finland it can have several origins from Germanic languages since Finnic tribes were known for being skilled hunters and nomads, "Fin" also means "nice" or "fine" in Swedish so "Fineland" but the origin on both names is unclear but rather fascinating.
