That was great. I wish my EH still had the Hydramatic, its had a Trimatic since 1988, works well, but a noticeable drop in fuel economy

I had the problem that second gear was missing. The TC has to empty itself to get second gear. Second gear is a mechanical link between engine and wheels, hence the need of the damping plate. TC emptying is controlled by two dump valve on TC outside held by spécial screws. On mine the dump valves were seized. After cleaning and polishing they were functional again and second gear was back. The spécial screw can be replaced by door strickers screws, they fit perfectly. I had do drill the original special screws out, as they are glued in from factory.

Greetings from the states. I'm studying up on this so I can do some basic service on my '62 F85. In the early part of the video when you are looking at the excessive play in the TV lever, I noticed that both valves (detent and band-apply) were moving at the same time. I'm still learning, but my service manual shows a step called "Throttle Stop Screw Adjustment" where a tool is used to set the detent valve apply back a little so that the band apply acts first. Would you say that this particular transmission in the video was applying the detent valve too early?
