There's a lore short story somewhere about him being a psychic/fortune seeing dagger thrower, iirc he killed a girl by accident with the dagger during one of his "shows"and he holds onto it as a reminder of that tragedy

If Malzahar is remodelled, he should be one of those cultists that walk around basically naked, have the Void possess half of his body and his design becomes much more interesting.

It's a shame he has nothing going on, cause when we think about it, he should be one of the most important characters in the Lore. So odd that characters that don't really matter in the scheme of things get so much attention; yet the characters that, if you were to make LoL a novel would be the main characters have almost nothing going on.

Malzahar's current state makes me really sad. When you think about it, he is actually supposed to be the main antagonist of the lore. Yes Black Mist is bad and Morde wants to rule the world blah-blah but Void is an existential threat to all life in the universe. As the person who leads the forces of the Void, he is the biggest threat on Runeterra.

It's kind of nice, however, to see someone depressed/nihilistic in a piece of popular media. While some characters might be purposefully "disappointed in life", Malzahar's motivation being "I had a bad life so I will make everyone else's lives bad too" is something that a lot of people struggle with in real life. I am not defending his in-game model though, christ it's bad.

I personally see the hole in his head as like a 3rd eye. It goes along well with the divination references and demonstrates that his foresight got corrupted by the void

If they ever update him, I do like that concept of him being something akin to a void ascendant.
