FILM DESCRIPTION:
A group of filmmakers looking for a lost native tribe instead find a man-eating monster in this thriller. Terri Flores (Jennifer Lopez) is a documentary filmmaker on assignment to make a film about the Shirishama Indians of the Amazon, a mysterious tribe known as "the People of the Mists." As Terri and her crew -- cameraman Danny Rich (Ice Cube), sound recordist Gary Dixon (Owen Wilson), anthropologist Steve Cale (Eric Stoltz), production manager Denise Kahlberg (Kari Wuhrer), and host Warren Westridge (Jonathan Hyde) -- head down the river, they discover a man whose boat has sunk and desperately needs rescue. Paul Sarone (Jon Voight), the mysterious stranger that they save from the waters, claims to know something of the Shirishama and says he will take the crew to them. Instead, he guides the group to the hiding place of the fearsome Anaconda, a gigantic snake that swallows a man whole, vomits him up, and eats him again (no small accomplishment, that). The snake is worth a fortune if captured, but can a creature so dangerous be captured at all?

This movie is WHY I own an anaconda right now haha. I was probably around 8 when this movie came out and my mom got me my first boa when I was 10 because of this movie. I'm now 30 almost 31 and I finally have my dream snake and I have multiple huge Zoo style beautiful enclosures and it's all thanks to this awful amazing movie. Although don't believe anything that you see about anacondas from this movie haha They are amazing animals. And they have never been confirmed to have ever killed a human being. Doesn't mean it's not possible but just remember this is a movie

I saw this movie in 1997 at the drive-in with my friends when I was 17 the movie they played after this was liar liar with jim Carrey....what a magic time in my life, the 90's were the worst of times but they were the best of times...

Good movie! And great playing, especially Jon Voight - the guy sets the dark climate for the whole movie.

While there were some pretty good characters in this movie (yeah bad b-grade horror), Westridge (Jonathan Hyde) is my favorite. I think his character changes the most during the movie. At first he is a whiny cowardly snob, but by the end he will become a hero. After all, Westridge tries to oppose Serone even a little, though he’s afraid of this and knows he would certainly not win a fight against him. Except when he hits Serone with a golf club. One of the best scenes in the whole movie. And near end in the movie Westridge saves others and end up killed by that snake. And okay, I’m definitely very biased, but I like that actor very much.
And when so many people ask who and what movie, try using things like IMDb, where you can find Anaconda's entire cast.
