CNA, why present the view of stronger US alliance from S.Korea, Japan, Singapore, Philippines, Australia, NZ. What about stronger alliance with China from N.Korea, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, not forgetting Cambodia and Laos? In the end, every country will have to make their strategic decision. In the past, it was only listening to USA or else. Today, it will be why should sovereign nations bend over to US demand? So now sovereign nations have choices.

I'm most interested in our brothers' and sisters' take in the Philippines. If you are a Filipino, which candidate do you want to win?

Looks like the concern is about East Asia/ASEAN…not Asia.

I prefer Jill Stein, the only anti-genocide candidate, to be president, although her chances are not there. Harris and Trump both support what Israel is doing (putting it mildly to avoid censorship). To me, any candidate who is pro-genocide is a no no.

So who is better for East Asia and the world, Harris or Trump? I guess Harris would cause less damage. Trump is reckless, and lets his gut rule his brain. Harris is not bright (not that Trump is), but her dimness is good as she would, hopefully, cause less damage, although ultimately it would depend on whom she appoints to the various offices, especially treasury secretary, secretary of state, and national security adviser. In summary, Trump would be a certain, 100%, disaster, whereas Harris would be an 80% disaster for East Asia and the world.
