Great video. Not sure how your results were after installing everything but what I like to do is use the old seal if is not extremely damaged and tap on that instead of hitting the new seal directly. That tends to bend them and they won't last that long. Ask me how I know. You can also use a small wood block to tap in a more wider area of the seal if that makes sense. Other than that great video. Thanks for taking the time to post it. 👍

Funny with the kids in the background.
I have a few rap songs I did in 2003 or so. And I can hear the kids in the background, toilet lid dropping and yelling. Shoot!!! Now they all grown.

You may have just ruined that seal. That does not look like rubber. That looks like a PTFE seal. Teflon seals go on DRY. You only lube rubber seals.

So at the end you were talking about damaging the seal, did it end up leaking after or was everything all good?

I hate how chevy engendered the 4.3 w/ 4l60e... It makes it impossible to diagnose a oil pan leak from a rear main seal leak.

Is there a gasket that normally goes on the block?

What is the part number for the special tool to install the seal.

you said the cam plug was leaking ?
So then before separating the engine from the tranny, I guess it could be easy to assume you have a bad RMS when it might actually be a leaking cam plug. Is that correct?
