$20 an hour doesn't matter if you have no job.

You guys did know. You voted for him. Big business wants this. They shut down all the small businesses that take from their profit margin. What did you guys expect would happen?

No type of warning? Business owners in California, both large and small, have been saying that this is what would happen for years. The politicians you vote for in Sacramento are completely unaffected by the stupidity of their policies...

It’s simple math. Why are people confused? More small businesses will close because of this. It’s by design to benefit big corporations and lobbyists

My aunt and i started a small street corn business.
The price of products skyrocketed, we had to raise the price of our items.
Then taxes went up (which not many noticed) so we had to raise the price again.

We file taxes and everything.
We employ three workers, and one day the we got a letter from the county notifying us there would be a pay raise.
My aunt which does all the paper work looked at me and said 'if this effects us, we would have to shut down. Five years of hard work, struggles, , out the window. (X) (x) (x) and we won't have a job anymore'
It brought me to tears.
Lucky it didn't the law didnt effect us.

They deserve what they voted for. Then complain about it

That business knew WAY ahead of time that they'd need to close. They know their expenses. It was only a surprise to the workers.

God bless all the employees and the owners, times are tough. It couldn’t have been an easy decision ❤

That sort of behavior does not add up. Closing without any warning is not cool. What if the owner was just using the new law as an excuse to ditch the business?

People who have tolerated or allow the government to alter free market pricing get exactly the society they deserve.

No warning? Were they not aware of the hike in the minimum wage? They had a warning, they just didn't know how to read the tea leaves.

$20/hr in California cost the business $36+ per hr due to the FICA &unemployment taxes and increased workman’s comp
