2019 Lexus UX 200 Luxury First Drive Video Review

The 2019 Lexus UX 200 is an all-new entry level luxury crossover. The UX does many things right including a well-executed interior, a driving experience that is suitable for the vast majority of the buying public, and the price is very competitive for the compact luxury crossover segment. Prices range from $32,000 for the Base model up to $37,200 for the Luxury trim seen here.

Right away you know this is a Lexus thanks to the spindle grille and sharp LED headlights. From the side the UX looks a lot like the Toyota CH-R. There is some nice body sculpting going on with a lot of design angles. Under the hood is a 2.0 liter 4-cylinder engine that makes 169 horsepower and 151 lb-ft. of torque. On the inside the interior is sharp and stylish. The gauge cluster houses a 7-inch TFT display which looks great. The seats are comfortable featuring some interesting detailing.

I like it. Good for city driving and young people. Maybe someday for me

Consider me subscribed. This was the best, most unpretentious car review I’ve ever seen. I also happen to own the car, but still.

The CD Player is still available in all Lexus cars because they have the Levinson Radio. CDs still use the uncompressed WAV audio format which if you are "specific" enough to buy a Lexus, you may be looking for that difference in sound quality. The MP3 and WMA formats used for most music today is compressed, meaning that they do not carry all of the available, natural sounds.

Great review as usual. The giant grill works better on this smaller SUV. I don't know why. Maybe it's just the nice color scheme.

Had one as a loaner last week while my 2017 IS200t F-Sport was in for maintenance. I liked it in some ways (love the styling) but is a bit disappointing for a Lexus. While the engine only makes 169HP it feels surprisingly peppy & has good passing power, but gets obnoxiously loud even during normal acceleration (thank the CVT). The interior has some nice touches, but is on the cheap side for a Lexus. I don't like the touchpad (my IS has the older mouse-like controller which is far better). The rear seat has almost no legroom, even less than the IS which already has a small rear seat. Overall it feels more like a cheaper Toyota especially when the engine revs fairly high.

They should put the IS200t motor instead.

i think the signature grade Cx-5 offers more for under $40K

I am trying to decide between this, Toyota Highlander, or Four Runner. All three are nice but the Lexus is on the high side of price. My 2014 IS 350 is holding up very well though and is a lot of fun. Any other options besides Honda Pilot? Are certified pro owned BMWs, Porsches, or Mercedes reliable yet? Lol. Maybe a 2016ish?

I'd spend a few thousand more and step up to a NX. There's very little rear seat legroom in the UX.

Does it have security cameras? Or just a backing up camera?

Can't understand why lexus didn't just add a 2.0 turbo with 6 speed

it's just a souped-up toyota matrix...

No humans can fit in the rear seats. Very stupide design; why not just have a 2-door?

This Lexus is Toyota Corolla hatchback!

Looks like a Mazda cx3, Hyundai Kona, Honda Hr-v, Toyota CH-R... all the brands are competing to make this tiny suv crossover thing.
*The back seat legroom is compromised, it’s like a coup, actually even smaller. Maybe for kids. The Corolla, Elantra and Civic all have better dear seat space than this thing.

30K plus? No Bueno. Rather buy a fully loaded Camry for that price.
