Here in Spain web use two sticks as pliers and then que put them on the floor and sweep them, so the thorns falls apart. Later, we peel them with a knife doing a vertical cut and an horizontal like a barrel's top cover and pulling out the skin and eventually put them into the refrigerator. It's a very refreshing fruit, very nice in summer, and it grows wild.
