Envisaged as a weekend home for a family of four - a doctor couple and their children, this house also needed to culminate as a retirement home for the couple in the years to come.

The site slopes from southwest to northeast, with roads running along the highest levels. The L-shape of the house positioned at the topmost corner is derived from the need for easy accessibility and a desire to create a micro-ecosystem of the land expanse to the north. The house covers only 1/8th of the total plot, keeping in mind the responsibility of minimizing the built footprint.

Finished in natural materials this house, designed by Principal Architect Saurabh Malpani and the Artha Studio team, personifies every inhabitant’s personal interest, whether classical singing or stargazing.

One of the best projects that I have ever seen on Buildofy. Please keep on bringing more such ecofriendly and sustainable projects.

This would be one of the most well designed projects on Buildofy. Unlike a lot of the jazzier homes that are blingy and appear to be needless statements in style, this is so warm and rustic, just like the site it sits on. I loved the nuanced design concepts that Saurabh explained so well.
Great vision and execution! Well done!

This is one of the most considered designs on the channel, and I love the material use. It does look like it's going to make life difficult when residents get ill, infirm or old though.

- - - strong USP - - - in concept and design - - - maximum nature contact and natural materials used - - - can be marketed as part of Green Tourism / Sustainable Tourism - - - if this construction shelters the heavy thunder showers of Indian Monsoons - - - then everything else is appreciated - - -

Thoughtful Best utilization of slope...
Previously I thought stairs were to cut resist wind.
Amphitheatre stairs may be modified smooth curves.
Elliptical, parabolic.. French curves....
