I updated my install of LMDE this morning and I am happy with the changes.I am awaiting the update to drop for 21.3 so as I can get the full benefits on my other laptop as well.

I tried Linux Mint 22 with the MATE desktop environment on my old laptop (Dell Inspiron N5110, i5 2nd gen, 4GB RAM), and everything works well, including Bluetooth, which hadn't worked for years on Windows 7 but works now. I am new to Linux. Should I go with the MATE or XFCE version, or should I try another distro?
My primary task is to code and browse.

The software manager is still 8.2.9 for me even when i run the update fetches

Man I can't decide whether to stay on mint 22 cinnamon or lmde 6 with the back ports, I can't tell much of a difference. Lmde seems faster
