Transfer Files between 2 PCs with Crossover LAN Cable -- Tutorial

Regular Ethernet cable worked for me last time I've done this, Crossover cables are not needed, maybe they are for older network cards, I actually dunno.

if you're getting 10MB/second throughput, go to device manager on both machines and set adaptor to run @ gigabit speed. Obviously if the adaptor supports it (most do these days). Its a such a quick and easy way to transfer large amounts of data especially if you're a home user on home plugs/ wifi.

I believe that process is the same using 2 PCS or laptops with different version of windows, like as Win7 and Win8 or 10. Is that right?

IIRC, you don't even need a crossover cable to do this these days. Regular Ethernet cables should work.

Thank you, other videos arent as... specific. Had a bad router computer to router to computer connection that was 10-20MBz, now with a Crossover cable skipping the router IT IS this saved me a bunch of money from having to get a router that could handle the workload. they still have ports to connect to the router as well so 2 network connections each.
