The reason why Monaco doesn't have the highest percentage of millionaires is because they're all billionaires, not millionaires.

Now a fact that will un-blow your mind: Being a millionaire today is like having $75, 000 was in the 1950s.

No one seems to understand the fact that this many millionaires and billionaires in a country indicates a VERY unhealthy financial situation in said country

And when everyone is a millionaire, no one will be rich and those who aren't millionaires won't be able to afford a bottle of water.

As someone with diabetes incipitis, I drink 1.5-2 gallons of water a day. Taking in that much chlorine, fluorine and heavy metals would kill me faster than the disease would if I drank tap water. I have to have that crap filtered out. Reverse osmosis filtration is expensive and very wasteful, producing one gallon of drinkable water for every 5 gallons run through the filter. Not to mention the time. Water bottles are both more convenient and very necessary for my health. Sorry about the plastic waste. I make up for it in other ways, like using a reel mower rather than a powered mower to cut my lawn.

Yea the high inflation in the last 5 years basically means. A high proportion of home owners are millionaires, doesn’t actually mean their buying power/quality of life has improved. Just the value of a dollar has fallen.

At this rate you have to be a millionaire in order to maintain a stable lifestyle

I live in San Francisco and you technically need over $1M just to buy any house... and it's going to be small and old.

Once anyone reaches a million usd is considered a millioner and doesn't have to be cash, it has to do with what you own.that kinda explains the new millioners.

The money laundering thing, I have a question. Yes google says it’s been illegal since 1986 but in the movie “Scarface 1983” Tony was arrested for money laundering. Now, I know it’s a movie but was that foreshadowing on De Palmas part? How were they able to arrest him on something that wasn’t a law for 3 more years?

My sister bought a house in *Gilbert, AZ in 2014 for $265k. She literally did nothing to it and just sold it for $985k.* It is the exact same house. WTF is happening!!? If you haven’t ever owned a home, good luck ever trying your get one.

Is a millionaire simply defined as somebody whose net worth is at least $1 million or they have to have $1 million in the bank?

1986 yeah of course because that's when they started tracking everyone's money and they realised that if it isn't in your bank they can't track it

a million isn't that much anymore.... you need almost that much to buy a house in most parts of Seattle

For those millionaires, is that simply counting their cash or their total assets?

Most wealthy people have very little cash because it doesn't do much for them.
Rather they own plenty of assets and the profit earned just gets reinvested into the same or new assets.

And in Singapore that million dollars can go a long way.
Think of all the plastic we don't have to pick up if we quit drinking bottled water.

Tapwater in the US. Pretty sure we pay a lot more than 33 cents per year where I live.
