How to convert audio to text (mp3 to text)

The approach that I have used is to simply play the audio file loudly and let my android phone write to a text document using the speech to text function.I pause the audio every now and then to allow the conversion to catch up.

This is one of the best tutorials on you tube. I followed the guidelines step by step and converted a technical presentation saved as an mp3 file to text file on notepad then copied to Word some typos but hey.. TAKE A BOW

This was really good.  Everything worked fine, but when I went to test it, all that is coming up on the Speech to Text is ' Trial trial trial trial'.  So basically, it just keeps typing the word trial...does this mean I have to buy the software to see if it works?  Thanks again.

I followed all the steps in the tutorial but my did not work with showing this message "No speech was detected. You may need to adjust your microphone settings." do i have to connect a external microphone? please help

Are you saying if i get the full version of virtual audio cable the transcription will be more accurate? if you how can i get it?

it is working not BUT the transcription is not accurate. if I get the full version will make my transcription accurate?

Thanks for posting. This was very informative. I often download mp3 files of a speech and want to quote some part in my own files. I write books and have eight on Amazon and finishing the next one. Again, Thanks.

on the Web Speech API Demonstration - i press the mic button - but nothing happens, it's not "turning on". tried to refresh the page, I've followed all the instructions ... but this mic button isn't responding :-(
