UK Court Rejects Nirav Modi's Appeal Against Extradition To India | Breaking News | Times Now News

A UK judge on Wednesday dismissed Nirav Modi's appeal against his extradition to India in connection with the Punjab National Bank (PNB) fraud case, dealing the fleeing diamantaire another defeat. Nirav will face fraud and money laundering charges for his involvement in the multi-billion dollar scheme when he is extradited. The judgement was given by Lord Justice Jeremy Stuart-Smith and Justice Robert Jay, who presided over the appeal hearing earlier this year. The 51-year-old businessman was given permission to file an appeal against District Judge Sam Goozee's Westminster Magistrates' Court decision in favour of extradition in February while he was still incarcerated at Wandsworth Prison in south-east London.
