Uncertainty reigns. The US dollar is losing purchasing power due to inflation, yet it's gaining strength against other currencies and assets like gold and property. Investors are flocking to the dollar as a safe haven. I'm concerned about my $420, 000 retirement nest egg eroding due to high inflation. What alternative options exist to safeguard our wealth?

Sorry Johnny but this is the wrongest short I’ve ever seen. First of all, what effects did you mention that would come out of the USD not being the world’s reserve currency? I’m not sure, but I don’t think it would be as important as you say because 2) there is no global currency reserve system. There’s no group of decision-makers who decided the USD should be the most traded and tradeable currency. It just evolved to be that. Assuming another currency superseded the US Dollar, it would also be traded for other currencies and goods like the USD is today, and real global trade/investment wouldn’t be all that affected. And last, the US doesn’t remain the leading economic power because random people trade with each other in USDs, but those people use this currency BECAUSE the US is the leading economic power. It’s historically been a rather stable and strong currency, whose denominated bonds have been some of the most secure and plentiful on Earth.

USA be like: "How dare you deny to pay for our mistakes"

To simplify, if the US dollar ceases to be the most desired currency in the world, the US won't be able to keep printing free money and suddenly their grip on global trade and politics loosens

"What if the US dollar stop being the global currency?"
As a non-American, I don't see a problem in that at all. AT ALL.

BRICS is hopeless, there is little chance of them actually cooperating on a single currency

I am pretty certain that India announced that they wouldn’t join a BRICS currency as they wanted to use the rupee more and still use the USD when trading with the US who they see as a friend.

Also India doesn’t like the idea of sharing a BRICS currency with counties like China who they see as a potential enemy. BRICS isn’t exactly a United alliance so I wouldn’t say they are going to be a collective world power in the future, especially when Russia, South Africa and Brazil’s economic growth this decade are far behind that of India and China.
