BRICS wants to build a new currency. It is also worth noting that gold has historically been used as a store of value and a means of exchange, and some countries still hold significant amounts of gold in their reserves. However, it is unclear how a new currency backed by gold would function in the current global financial system and whether it would gain widespread acceptance. Ultimately, any decision to create a new currency would be subject to numerous economic, political, and logistical considerations.

BRICS don't really need to make a common currency, what they need is to trade in their own currencies.

China's successful mediation in reunifying Iran, Saudi Arabia, and other Arab states has curbed the US' ability to sow divisions and exploit the region. In this context, Saudi Arabia should prioritize conducting oil sales with China and Iran in the Rial or Yuan, reserving the use of the US dollar as a last resort.

The dollar is so strong. It is a beacon of strength among all the other weak currencies. No wonder it has the position of reserve currency and likely will for centuries. There is so much demand by the world for the US dollar. The dollar is wonderful and a good, solid, wholesome and responsible investment within the Fx.

A common currency is indeed a great way of countering the U.S dollar. If BRICS plans to take over as the major currency then what we need first is cooperation between the members and i think it would be great if they can make themselves a major player in Africa too. Well everything aside the other members should try to be a go between china and india to solve their disagreements it'll help BRICS tremendously.

It’s time to rethink U.S foreign policy, at this point the U.S should abandon nato expansion.all we did was help our adversaries reunite more of a alliance….even some of our allies are reevaluating there position towards us….we need to abandon our imperialist policies before it catches up to us.
