Briefly experiencing Bourbon St. once is fine. Spending extended time there is a total waste of time and money; overpriced food and drinks, tacky tourist souvenirs and droves of drunk 20 year olds. NOLA has so much more to offer besides this strictly party atmosphere, unless that is the only reason for going.

We just came back from there. If you like homeless encampments and trash it's the place to go. I found it disgusting and I was glad to leave.
