Known more for its bar scene and partying than history, there is a lot you can learn about this historic French Quarter street outside the hustle and bustle.

Andrew will show you some legendary music venues, a voodoo shop, cabarets, as well as some must-visit restaurants and places to drink cocktails on the central strip of Vieux Carre.

Love these NOLA tours. I worked in the bars in the French Quarter from 1999-2013 and it’s kind of sad seeing everything all boarded up and closed

Gives me goose bumps. I worked and lived in the Quarter in the mid-late 80's. I had a room in some slave quarters off Conti and Dauphine. On the second floor of the Old Absinthe House was Tony Moran's Italian Restaurant where I worked for a while and met Frank Sinatra and Red Buttons one night. Had a gig as DJ at Chris Owens' club where she was still putting on a helluva show at 55+, another working with a street magician named Keith Wilson and a midnight show at the Famous Door. Got to shoot a game of pool with Paul Newman when he was between takes shooting the movie "Blaze" down on St. Phillip Street. Sold roses on the street corner for Bob Bridges, the Flower man. Every thing from pushing a Lucky Dog cart a couple of nights to dining room captain at Court of Two Sisters, lol. Lots of memories in a few short years. Thanks 👍👍 Oh, and thanks to Ruthie and Chicken Man for helping to make the Quarter what it was then.

Thanks, Andrew, your videos are great! Takes me right back to my childhood home. I'd love to see you do one of each street in the Quarter, the Treme, Uptown, Bayou St. John . . . basically every neighborhood in NOLA.

Just recently discovered this channel. Love it! I will probably never get to visit New Orleans so this is great. Loving the old buildings and glad to see they survived Katrina. Sad, however to see the graffiti around the Bourbon St, area.

New sub.! La native born and raised just north of NOLA. Wife from Metairie, LA. Lived in BR for a long time. Love south La!!
Always something to do here: fishing, hunting. Boating, 4 wheeling, and so-on. Only problem I ever have is air quality, it's very humid here...

I lived in the Quarter. Gotta laugh at the "verbal exchange" bright and early in the background 🤣

I am so glad to have come across your channel. I am looking to move to New Orleans and have enjoyed the history lessons. I am excited about taking an actual tour when I move. Also, thank you for covering Chris Owens. I have passed by that place several times during my travels to New Orleans never checking it out. To my surprise when I learned Chris Owens was a woman. I just read up on her...beautiful soul.
