It's hard to stand out in the crowd when everyone is very competitive. You better stop competing with other people because you'll end up seeing yourself as inferior from everyone. Focus on your goal and it will lead you to where you're going.

There's always going to be someone better at you at everything: Someone more attractive than you, someone smarter, someone more muscular, thinner, taller, wealthier, funnier, etc. The moment you start trying to compete with the rest of the world, you're always going to lose, because you'll always be outclassed by people in whatever you think the person you're trying to attract wants. The only person you should ever compete with is yourself. And that's not to say don't be happy with who you are. Just recognize that you, just like literally every other person in existence, has room to improve, and you can make improvements to yourself in any area, while still being content with who you are along the way. When you truly love someone, you'd never want them to feel like they're not good enough because there's someone else out there who's smarter or wealthier or anything like that. Find someone who appreciates you for who you are, as a work in progress like we all are. And if they're too superficial to like the person you are because of whatever "flaw" you have, then that's their loss.
