For reference.
HoYo uses different VA Studios for each of their games and the only one that is being problematic and striked against (as far as i know) is the Genshin one, Formosa.

HSR's Studio is "Rocket Sound" and ZZZ used to be "BLEND" before it was switched to "Sound Cadence Studios"

Also Fun fact:
ZZZ's Voice Directors are all, at the time of writing, somehow involved with HoYo before.

Michael Schwalbe and Alexis Tipton voice various NPCs in Genshin or HSR. Additonally Michael used to be the Beta Voice for Billy in ZZZ

Amber Lee Connors is Furina's VA and Molly Zhang is Seele's VA.

Of all the jobs to be automated by AI ... shouldn't the creative ones be left alone? It's hard enough making a living in creative industries as is.

This is literally crazy. Why can't creative jobs be left alone? Why is it that humans' artistic nature is targeted? It's just exploitation. Of course, it's the easiest job to replace, so obviously people are going to take advantage of that. It's so lowly and pathetic

We visual artists (illustrators, comic artist, etc) have been saying this since the beginning of this whole generative AI stuff became mainstream, and people mock us because “we need to keep up and adapt to technology” when in reality, our major concerns is these generative AI companies use human artists’ works for their machine training. I’m glad VAs are also speaking up about this and I hope more people realize how generative AI is just unethical

This honestly would explain a lot of what’s been going on lately with a lot of the VA’s in the gaming industry. I wonder if this is in relation to the recent replacement VA’s for HuoHuo and Argenti/Tail (though I’m half thinking it isn’t and could be in regards for something more personally related).

We all need to get behind artists, be they actors, visual creators, or writers and protest the way AI steals their work. Heck, the local McDonalds even tried to use AI in the drive-through. It wasn't for "customer convenience." They clearly wanted to get rid of employees. Happy to say (for them at least) it did not work & they're back to humans manning the drive-through. AI can be great, but lawmakers really need to iron out what is and is not allowed. You just know it will be used to fabricate "evidence" in both court cases and politics.

I assume hoyo probably sign a long term contract with Formosa, and Formosa probably sign a long term contract with the VA as well. So if Hoyo need to break that contract with Formosa, they would have to pay a HUGE fine. And the new studio would need to resign all the contract or recast all the characters, which for many reasons is unthinkable. So now we just pray, Formosa would get slap and behave. So both VA and Hoyo will have less headache.

The push for AI is greedy executives who think they can save money by simply not hiring people to do that art work or voice acting when in actuality. They probably still need to pay the same amount for people to run the ai and only get half the quality back.
