Sozo being resurrected was highly requested in the official discord server, same thing for Ratau and I imagine we might get that in the future too.
I do think we may have to battle against the fox to get Ratau back

Sacrifice a heart to bring back ratau or sacrifice 50% of followers and gold to save ratau.

I think the solution is pretty simple, we have to hunt down the red wolf. I imagine it like you have to roam the dungeons and he spawns randomly once in a room of the third section. He flees before you finish them, maybe bargains with you to let them go, but the next encounter is harder. The fourth fight is as a proper boss, and once you defeat him, he explodes and from his remains the followers you sacrificed are released. Ratau tells you they are shocked that you came to save them, that he was sure you had fully betrayed them and was going to leave them be digested slowly by the wolf. He doesn't inmediately forgives you, but sees that you were remourseful, and gives you a chance of winning his trust again by doing some sidequesting. Eventually, he forgives you and moves to your settlement.

Personally, what I’m hoping is that the Fox is final Knucklebones opponent. The mini game currently lacks a “final boss”. The soul of one of your followers for the soul of Ratau

i think it would be best if you saved Ratau, he would become a cult member.
or, even better, the red fox would become a cult member, and sacrificing the red fox would give Ratau back.

Even funnier, Ratau somehow overpowers The Red Fox having previously worn The Red Crown so gaining new dark powers and he's the new final boss in a future update. After beating him we are given the choice though to recruit him to the cult OR The Red Fox and depending on which we pick we get a special one time use Ritual.
