Mengi er sönn ánægja að kynna tónleikaútsendingu frá Óðinsgötu en þar leikur Þorleifur Gaukur Davíðsson á munnhörpu og pedal-steel gítar. Hann er einn eftirsóttasti session tónlistarmaður landsins og erum við afar glöð að fá hann liðs við okkur í Mengi. Þorleifur Gaukur hefur leikið víða með Kaleo og sést hann gjarnan á hljómleikum eða skjánum með KK.
Í gegnum tíðina hefur hann spilað á ótal plötum með listamönnum eins og Mugison, Bríeti, Baggalúti og Club D'elf.
Í Mengi flytur hann sitt fyrsta sólósettið, spunasett, þar sem tónlistarstefnur mætast sem hafa haft hvað mest áfrif á hann sjálfan. Allt frá andlegum stefum til fiðlutónlistar til gamalla popplaga. Við sjáumst á skjánum!

Thorleifur Gaukur plays harmonica and pedal steel guitar and is one of the most in demand session players of Iceland. You can see him doing everything from improv shows with David Thor to stadium gigs with Kaleo to playing bluegrass with KK.
He was awarded a full-scholarship to Berklee College of Music and was on of 13 students that has graduated with an artist diploma, specifically designed for artist with an well established career in music.
Through the years he has played on countless records with artists like Mugison, Bríet, Baggalútur and Club D’elf. He has also sat in with artist like Darryl Jones, Chuck Leavell and Victor Wooten, Peter Rowan and Sierra Hull.
Here you hear him perform his first solo set, an improvised show where he floats and blends between many of his different influences, from spirituals to fiddle music to old pop songs.
The event is supported by Reykjavík City.
