Thank you! It was driving me nuts. The thing kept resetting to live and that's not what I wanted. Preserve the live setting is a little bit of an odd way to jeep it turned off but thank you.

Thank you for taking the time to share this. I have done this and once-in-a-while, that annoying feature rears its ugly head. I wish Apple would allow the user more friendly option choices. As far as I’m concerned I want to PERMANENTLY remove Live Photos. I don’t understand why anyone would want them especially because they use an inordinate amount of space. Oh well, to each
