Thank you so much! I knew I had turned it off and didn't realize it was re-enabling the live setting each time I opened the app. Honestly, why in the world Apple thought this was a good feature is beyond me. If I want to take a photo, I want to capture a split-second moment in time, not a photo encompassing a 3-second span of time. Subscribed.

Thanks so much for this! I recently had it turned off thinking it wouldnt trigger "Live setting" but had recently noticed my photos were Live photos. And I hate live photos because they bulk up my storage. Kind of a confusing feature for Apple for this toggle to be a thing

Thank you for explaining what the iPhone wording actually means. I turned off the live picture in the camera app. Then checked the "live" picture off setting in the camera preference settings. Going back to take a picture - live action was still on.

OMG! Thank you! God bless you! I was confused by how they worded the setting and was so frustrated because live takes more storage also. I think being gen x I’m still obsessed about storage and battery power more than I should be but, you still should be able to change a phone setting much easier than this no matter what.
