Node Js is not the problem: I have interviewed many JavaScript candidates. They don’t understand the fundamentals - data structures and design patterns. Having said that, I would use Typescript for large projects. Inheritance has a place for specific design patterns

C# doesn't support multiple inheritance. It supports single inheritance only. You can implement multiple interfaces on a class however.

The possibility that you upgrade your node app without errors is zero. In 2021 i had to downgrade node itself several times to return to a functional app. At this point i prefer spring boot and gradle

Long term contractor shortage :) ... The hint is in the name. Contractors with a long term commitment are usually already taken. I am, for example, with a company for 6 years. No intention to leave for the next 2 years.

node excellent for prototype apps, but catastrophe large scale projects...But then again if you know c# or Java, I would never choose Node...

I came for the Ruby jokes, and I've been satisfied.

I wouldn't even attempt building a NodeJS server project without TypeScript, and even then NodeJS kinda sucks. TypeScript provides static type assertions, but it's all a facade. On the server side you do care about the data entering and leaving the server, so a strong type system to assert runtime data is minimal requirement to be viable on the server. There are options to mitigate the problem, but it's all messy lib space functionality.

At the end of the day, JavaScript is the thing holding NodeJS back. Ironically.

I got heisenbugs in js before, usually caused by data types mixing up

I started programing with Java for several years and consider it my go-to language. Do you think its a good idea to switch languages or should I wait until I am finished with college?

Have u thought about shooting from the dark side? Put the camera on the opposite side of the light. Now u are shooting from the bright side which doesn’t give much drama or dimension. Most the Hollywood movies are shoot from the dark/short side.

Sometimes it's easier to mantain regex than node.js
