Poor Mel C. The Spice Girls were there throughout my childhood.. I was too young to even know what gay..lesbian..bisexual was nor did I care. She was so strong through all these interviews, laughed them off and stayed composed.

These interviewers were being so rude. It's none of your business. "If I were to ask you if you were gay would you give me a straight answer?" Trying to be funny, just pathetic.

I never understood these rumours. Tomgirls were all the rage back then, it's not like she was the only person not wearing dresses, heels and very noticeable make-up. She's just a private person, always has been. She still is now- no photos of her daughter Scarlett have ever been released (rightly so too.) She struggled very publicly towards the end of the Spice Girls, depression and wanting to distance herself from being 'trapped' in the band because she wanted to do her own thing- I can't imagine all these intrusive questions helped her in any way.

Wow! How rude were these interviewers? I'm glad she held her own but to be so invasive about someone's sexuality is actually very inappropriate. Who we sleep with or fancy is our own personal business. It's a shame that these interviews were done before the Equality Act 2010 because under the protected characteristics, it is discrimination to assume someone's sexuality in the workplace, whether accurate or not. Interviewers are in the workplace and she would have been well within her rights to file a case against them, professional friend or not. If she were gay, she would not have hidden it. She had a large lesbian following and the support of her friends. It wouldn't have affected her career. Disgracefully intrusive. She's a performing artist. Stop trying to sensationalise people's personal lives for entertainment value and ratings. Mind your own business.

Poor Sporty Spice. Sporty and a bit Tom boyish, she is thought the one when it was actually some of her band friends who were. The big point is who cares. Leave them alone to sing and dance and make us all happy.
