When France ceded Louisiana to Spain everything west of the Mississippi river was under Spanish rule and also the whole west coast of North America all the way up to Valdez, Alaska. Spain also controlled for some time northern African cities like Tunis, Algiers or Oran, and many islands in the Pacific.

Ollie bye, I'm really looking forward for a v2 on the Spanish Empire since this one is really old and can be more accurate. A song recemendation would be 1492 conquest of paradise theme. It would go along really nice.

Lots of mistakes in this video. There are many spanish holdings missing, such as Milan and other small italian holdings, the Pacific Islands (Mariana Islands, Marshall Islands...), the whole Netherlands and Belgium (not just Belgium and neither during that small period of time), Austria (during the reign of Charles I), parts of Alaska, Ifni... As well as the many portuguese holdings in India, Arabia, Africa and Indonesia which became part of the empire during the Iberian Union

The Philippines weren't conquered before the Legazpi expedition of 1565

This sugarcoated perspective itself is a piece of history. Our understanding of the reality of Spain's history has advanced a great deal since this propaganda was delivered up until the 1990s.

It is a tad slow but not bad.  I'd like to point out that Spain lost Florida in 1763 (which you showed correctly) and reacquired it in 1783 (which your map does not show). Florida remained Spanish until 1819.  As for the people writing about Spanish barbarism below: they should research the practices of the Aztecs, Araucanians, and Apaches (to name a few).  I am suggesting this from a pre-1492 perspective as well.

Karl V of the house Habsburg ruled over the Holy Roman Empire, the Netherlands, Belgium and Spain.
With giving Magellan the mission, to find a new spice route, he made it possible for the first circumnavigation. And thus started globalization and the first empire where the sum never sets.

Hay errores, por ejemplo, España y Portugal estuvieron unidas entre 1580 y 1640 al menos....Y Carlos I fue tambien emperador de Alemania emtre 1521 y 1556

Wait... Not sure if I'm mistaken.. But I'm pretty sure they didn't conquer Mindanao by 1521.. Much later..

ERROR. You don't say nothing about Aragon's Crown and the union, in 1492 Colón arrived to "La Española", conquered it, not in 1500. And the union with portugal? Neither say that.

Ollie, will you make more remakes of the "rise and fall" videos?, like this one, or the French, or German?.

You missed territories in north America, south America and south Africa, remember that between 1580-1640 Portugal was Spanish, and all its empire was Spanish during that time

It was like that:
