CN-III goes to the iris not the pupil. The pupil is just empty space. It adjusts the aperture of the pupil by opening and closing the iris.

It's like saying when you open an airlock, something gets sucked out in to space. That's incorrect. There's nothing in empty space to exert force. You get blown out in to space because the air inside the airlock exerts pressure.
