A slightly related comment: if you do find that you just played on a super rainy day, or a really hot day, and there is a lot of moisture in your shoes from sweat or water, putting newspaper in the shoes absorbs a ton of the moisture and will help them dry quicker, and keep them from smelling.

I agree with Josh on this one. The only shoes I have ever done this with are the Superfly I, II, II and GS II, most other high-end shoes are comfortable after natural break-in.

superflys are extremely tight out of the box and they're relatively flexible but they definitely caused me some very uncomfortable pressure points and it took about two weeks to break them in but once they're broken in they're absolutely amazing boots it's really a unique experience once they're broken in and all the uncomfortable training sessions were worth it
