Pro tip: when qualifying with this weapon in the military, absolutely do not look at your First Sargent after firing and say “this was my shit in Call Of Duty”

I had one of these in the army and they were great but I hated it mounted on my M4. Made the gun way too front heavy. But great side kick.

Thank God you're a real gun channel.
I can't stand airsoft channels, it's hard to get rid of them on my feed after marking "don't recommend" on all of them

My Uncle Marky, was a ground pounder with the U.S. Army for two tours in the Vietnam War. He was there for Tet. ( The Tet Offensive). His M.O.? The M-79 grenade launcher. The first "blooper". He affectionately called it his " thump gun" During his tours of combat he became so good at using it he no longer used the site most times. One of his fellow combat veterans ( a brother in arms) told me that. He said my Uncle Marky could even listen to the Viet Cong as they came through the jungle at "pop" one at them and hit them every time. In his own words he said of my uncle's proficiency with the M-79 grenade launcher " it was spooky". My Uncle Marky lived through the Vietnam War, but, his name should be on the Wall Memorial. Why? After the war he suffered from PTSD unbeknownst to psychological treatment at that time. He would have recurring nightmares where he would jump out of bed, grab his M- 1911 45 cal. And scream commands in Vietnamese. Needless to say, it eventually caused his divorce from the love of his life. He was an Irving Texas police officer, he did a great job and was promoted to Sargent during his career. Until on one burglary call he caught the Perp coming out of the back of the house and started yelling and screaming in Vietnamese. The burglar was wearing all black. My Uncle said he saw V.C. ( what my family believes to be a "flash back", when people who have been through great danger and seen horrible things, will, momentarily, hallucinate or believe that they are back where the trauma occurred.) The P.D. he worked for put him on administrative leave until a psychological exam could be conducted. You see he not only screamed Vietnamese at the Perp but beat the hell out of him with his pistol butt. He told us he thought, really believed, he was back " in the shit" as he put it, back in Vietnam. After his divorce, his job as a police officer was all he had. He never had a good night's rest since coming home my Grandfather told me. He was continually fatigued. I remember distinctly my Uncle Marky called me into his room one day and, because I was into playing "Army" with my buddies ( we would buy uniforms from the surplus stores and play war with our toy rifles we would really dress up the part) and he gave me all his military pins and medals. Of course I was elated! Wait till my buddies see me wearing these! I thought. Two days later I heard my mother bellow out the most shocked and mornful scream. I ran from the backyard into the house to the living room. I saw my Mother laying on the floor and weeping. That's when I found out my Uncle Marky was dead. He committed suicide. A single bullet through the roof of his mouth. He had left a note which only said " I'm sorry I hope that all of you will forgive me if you can't understand. Now I will be able to sleep. I won't be a burden any more ". Yes now you know why I say my Uncle Marky should have his name on the wall of the Vietnam Memorial. The Vietnam War killed him as sure as if he had been felled in the Jungles of Vietnam. He honorably discharged in 1968. He died from self inflicted wounds in 1979. From what my Grandfather told me he lasted through 10 years of silent suffering but the War finally killed him. I hope this history of my family member doesn't offend anyone, it's just this short brought it all back. Remember if you meet any of our combat veterans, thank them. They went and go through a hell of which we civilians can only imagine all to help us, to preserve our way of life... Freedom. Thank them sincerely.
