2021 Ford Bronco Sport Review: Nobody Puts Baby Bronco in the Corner | CarGurus

Показать описание
The Bronco name returns first as a pint-sized off-roading crossover.

Built atop the same platform that underpins the Escape, Ford's new Bronco Sport drives the architecture toward adventure. Off-road oriented in both looks and engineering, the Bronco Sport re-introduces a storied name to the American market, but it shouldn't be confused with the true, non-Sport Bronco arriving in Summer, 2021.

I love my Bronco Sport! Got it in white and nicknamed it "The Juice"

I bought my wife a Kodiak Brown Metallic Big Bend edition Bronco Sport two weeks ago. She loves it. We got the optional Copilot360 Assist + @ $795, floor liners front/rear with carpet mats @ $200, Class II Trailer Tow Package @ $495 and the Front and Rear Splash Guards. Total MSRP was a very reasonable $31, 525.00. I had desperately wanted the 2.0 liter 4 cylinder engine. I could not possibly imagine a 3 cylinder engine. The wait time was going to be about 2 months. I wanted my wife to have a car she liked in time for her birthday. You are correct. The 3 cylinder engine is not the dog I expected it to be. The little motor is turbocharged, direct injected and intercooled and feels zippy. I traded in my much loved, low mileage, 435 horsepower, leather trimmed, heated/cooled seats 2016 Mustang GT to get the wifey a car without 6-speed manual transmission. If Bronco Sports were not in such short supply, I wudda gone for the Outer Banks edition with the leather trim. We are both happy with the Bronco Sport.

They nailed it with this vehicle. I saw one parked at the grocery store waiting for my wife and nearly every person walking by looked at it or even stopped to do a loop view around it. One of a kind design

I just bought an Outer Banks Edition and it's awesome. 34mpg combined driving. I'm 6'2" and I can sit behind myself no problem. It's a comfortable ride and a well done vehicle for our 10th Ford. The Mustang GT is next!

I think the Jeep equivalent is Compass. The Renegade is teeny tiny small. I also think the Bronco Sport looks more like my old Escape than the new Escape.

I just got the baby bronco outter banks in that same color and I love it! And yes people do follow me while driving to take a good look of the bronco... and every time I go to the gas station somebody comes and ask me if they can see it inside... It’s a beauty!!!

It's pointless to talk about the price of the First Edition, because unless you've already bought one, they aren't available. Second, comparing the price of the top trim to other competitor's base isn't meaningful, either. Bottom line is that if you compare the competition, like the Jeep Compass Trailhawk, you see that the Bronco Sport is better equipped as an off-roader. It's got an electronic locking rear differential that the competition lacks, and that, along with the suspension, puts the Bronco ahead. Noise and gas mileage are issues, but ones you'll find with any vehicle set up for off-road capability, as evinced by the Jeep Wrangler, which is amazing off-road, but doesn't even have lane-keeping as an option! It's all about the abilities you want and what you're willing to give up for them. Maybe the small motor and all-season tires on the lower models would make this a better vehicle if you aren't going off-road, but off-road tires are loud, and lifted suspensions often effect steering/handling. As a compromise vehicle, this seems like it sits in a good place. The Bronco will have more capability and more room, but worse mileage, steering, and noise levels.

If you're someone like me who will take it often on mountainous terrain and once or twice a year cross country, it makes a lot of sense to get a Badlands with the Badlands package and co-pilot360+. Seems like it'll be comfortable enough for the long highway trips and capable enough for the off road adventures! Its pretty solid IMO. Wouldn't recommend anyone get the First Edition trim though. At that point you're paying more for less!

The bronco sport actually sounds pretty cool! I don’t mind the copilot 360+, the Lane keeping assist and the power tailgateNot being there. Less things to break and cost you a fortune

Dude, you’re comparing the price of a first edition with common competitors, price equally equipped rides! lol

I really like the looks of the Bronco Sport. I am quite surprised at your observed fuel economy with the 2.0 however. I had the 2.0 in a 2015 Escape AWD, and consistently got 30-32 on highway trips. I loved that engine in my Escape. I hate the styling of the new Escapes so I would definitely chose the Bronco Sport over one.

Your review is way off of everyone else. No one else mentioned that road noise or tire noise were a problem.
Is everyone else wrong and you’re the only one correct, I guess we’ll see!

I love my Bronco Sport. It’s a Big Bend model.

I've owned my 1.5 Big Bend for over a year now and I am averaging 29.5 mpg according to the trip counter. It really is a great little vehicle. Drives great, dependable, and pretty cool looking. I paid $29, 500 for my fully loaded Big Bend and don't regret it at all.

I got a base trim. It is an over priced grocery getting that will handle well in the snow and light trails. I like it...but for the money there are other options that might have been better. I think the first three trims should be treated as one vehicle and the Badlands trim as something else (as it is almost a "mid roader" as it has some decent off road capabilities, way more so than the base three trims).

I think the Outer Banks edition with a trailer hitch and roof rack cross bars in the lower $33-34K's is a pretty good deal.

Not a fan of this review. It's weird that he mentions the NVH being deafening because this is only the second review I've seen that really mentions it. Most say it's totally fine. Encouraging people to get the 3 cylinder engine is pretty weird too. Yeah, it gets better fuel economy but it also worsens the NVH and makes the car underpowered. As far as the price goes, it isn't particularly high considering what you're getting. Pretty much anything with a 2.0 turbo engine or larger is going to be mid-30k and up
