2021 Ford Bronco Sport: Off-Road, Snow and Overlanding Review

The 2021 Ford Bronco Sport is a (sub)compact crossover with a big chest of off-road features. Do the G.O.A.T. modes really matter? Or is this just another mall crawler with aspirations to greatness? In this video Ryan tests the Bronco Sport First Edition with a 2-liter Turbo engine, by climbing mountains, driving roads, testing the 0-60, economy and then how well it can handle deep, late-season snow in the Cascade Mountains. It's a Bronco Sport adventure like none-other.

For me, the coolest thing about this vehicle is that it's one of the first times I've been interested in an American brand in decades. Great to see Ford making some new moves!

I’ve been waiting for a review like this for 6 months. Every other review is done in a dirt lot behind the dealership. You’ve earned yourself a subscriber today.

I'm just speechless at the quality of this video. Driving Sports TV is taking this business to next level.

I’m really warming up to the little Bronco. I now the big one will be more capable in every way as it should be. That said, there’s something satisfying in seeing this little guy climbing through anything. I kind of want one.

Been watching a lot of your off-road reviews lately, and I really think you have one of the best formats for comprehensively reviewing vehicles on and off-road. You really showcase their abilities and limits well. Also really enjoy watching the 4Runner make cameos in other videos. It’s going to be a great 4wd “standard” to compare other vehicles to. You’ve got yourself another subscriber!

I just bought my bronco sport the other day. I have been watching every YouTube video that has come out. And this is by far the best one yet. Thank you.

A couple of gripes about your very well shot and edited video. 1) 6.5 0-60 in a 4x4 suv in this segment is pretty fast. Trail Edition 4runner is 7.9 2) The 4runner didn't do any better through your uphill ice bowl, you just hit it at a faster speed, which if you off-road much, helps a ton. Speed is king.

The ONLY review of the Bronco Sport I've been waiting for! Time to grab a snack.

The Snow Climb, for people who are not used to driving in snow, once you spin out you are basically creating ice below your tire. Starting from the spin out won't work unless you have studded or very aggressive tread. You have to back up and get a small run to get past the smooth icy spot you made, or back up and take a path that gets fresh snow under your tires.

Same thing happens when you spin out on a snowmobile.

I appreciate the extended highway tests, like you did with the outback. 3-4 times a year I do a 1200 mile round trip. If a car is cramped, if it is noisy, if the seats are uncomfortable, if it demands a high level of concentration to keep it centered it can make for a grueling 8-9 9hours. I am car shopping and this is on the list but the Golf R I have now has been a revelation for road trips.

Honestly for a crossover it did awesome!! That's exactly how a compact suv should be on and offroad, that's the spot, well done ford!

You have the best SUV reviews on the internet. Comparing the Bronco Sport to the gold-standard 4Runner was a smart move. It really showed how capable the Bronco Sport is, especially for its vehicle class.

This was truly a masterpiece of a video, the visuals were just crazy. Keep up the great work.

With the rear window glass wiper pin thing, that pin is spring loaded, if you close it out of alignment it will just turtle until the next time you turn on the wipers. The motor will rotate until the pin clicks back into the hole.

I’m really impressed with that little Bronco Sport. Seems to be way better off road than anyone thought it would be

Just amazing, truly cinematic production quality. I cannot imagine the work that goes on behind the scenes to get these out.

I'm impressed by this little crossover. I wish this thing was available last year when I bought my Tacoma. I originally had my heart set on a Forester but after watching your channel and TFL I ultimately decided on the truck because I was concerned that the Subaru wouldn't be capable enough. After seeing this Bronco, I hope the new Maverick pickup has similar levels of capability.

I love it when reviewers do mention what tires are being used. It adds a significant difference to the overall review 👍

I knew you were going to put that little beast through its paces and you did. I also knew that that little guy wouldn’t disappoint. The fact that the GOAT modes didn’t add much to its capabilities also means that if you got the lowest of the 2.0 engine, which is the Badlands, then you really don’t need to add anything to a bare bones Badlands and it’s considerably cheaper than the 4Runner. Moonroof be damned!! It’s a cooler and more capable Escape original. Somehow I’m going to buy one of these. It looks really fun!!
