I had a 2005 one of these from new for five years, great little car. If I remember correctly, when you have the roof up, you’ll notice two straps popped in to place by what would be the “B” pillar. If you loop these round and refasten, it pulls the back of the hood in when folded, flush with the deck for a much neater look.

Fantastic choice and a really fair review of the car. Every time I drive a stock one of these now it reminds me why I chose it as a platform for my build. Brilliant car as standard, amazing car with some choice work and mods.

Excellent video. We recently bought a 21 year old car as well and as you say; cars of this age usually need some extra TLC as age and irregular maintenance will have had their effect. But if the car is basically sound, it can still be great and with some love can only get even better.

I bought a late MR2 MkIII (2006) at three years of age but it had been in the sale room most of it's life and had done 3000 miles. I've had it 12 years and it's been the best car I've ever had. Love it! Just had the wheels reconditioned but other than that it's been fantastic. Drives like a go kart and is fun and reliable. I had the optional hard top which is fantastic for winter if you have somewhere to store it. The value is already starting to go up. It is completely mint and in my view has to be one of the best value classics available. Even my minter is only worth £5-6k.

I bought a 2002 mk3 it is mint. 27k miles. It done 1300 miles in 12 years full cobra exhaust better discs. Hard top was wrapped in plastic wrapping to keep it mint.soft top is excellent condition. I paid £2500 for it 3 year's ago. 4 new tyres and is driving like new.😍

I live in poland and i ve bought mine for 20000pln (about 5000£). I modified it a bit and it makes 160+hp but when it was stock you still can feel much much better accelration than factory claims.
