I purchase the thin vinyl placemats from the dollar store to make my templates. This gives you a permanent template and a nice firm surface for cutting

I've sewn curves for many years and I have to say, your tutorial was outstanding, Fran!!! I nearly lose my mind when I see tutorials that demonstrate using a gazillion pins...what a old nightmare. This is a case where less is more, for sure 😂! The walking foot is a game changer when piecing quilts, especially I love it for other sewing also love the beautiful colors of these quilts that fuchsia with the bright gold.

OMG this is the pattern I am going to do first, I absolutely love it! As an FYI, I find using a 28mm rotary cutter much easier for cutting curves. I was taught by Sarah Bond (may she rest in peace) to move my fabric while I cut the curve to create a smooth motion, which makes it much easier and more accurate. :) Thanks so much for doing this pattern and for the alternative fabrics at the end, it really sparks my imagination!!!!

This is another beautiful quilt and I love the fabric you used. The hubs and I were in Tyler last Friday, I really wanted to stop to see if y’all would come out and say hi but we were running a bit late so drove on by. Plus my hubs thought it would be bad form. 😂 I didn’t realize Tyler was as big as it is, looked like a nice place to live.
