Healthy Seeded Crackers (how to make them) #plantbasedrecipes

These crackers were the first recipe we shared that had some viral success and, in a way, changed our lives forever! We first shared the recipe last year, which brought thousands of people to our plantbaes community and gave us the confidence and certainty that creating and sharing recipes was what we were meant to do!

While making them may not change your life in the same way, once you start making your own, there's no turning back!

We are deeply grateful for every single one of you and take immense pride in seeing you recreate our recipes at home to share with your loved ones. We feel truly honoured to be a small part of your food journeys. Thank you so much for being here! 🤍🥹

Anyway, I’m getting a little emotional here 😂 so back to the recipe! Many of you have asked for a step-by-step video, so here it is!

These crackers are so delicious, tasty and crunchy, but where it gets good is that they are a little powerhouse of micronutrients.

You can use any combo of seeds that you like. Try to aim for at least three different ones for the best texture and to promote plant diversity. I am also using chickpea flour, which is a great way to sneak in some legumes and makes the crackers gluten-free and higher in protein compared to regular flour.

Ingredients:
- 1 cup mixed seeds (Here, I am using hemp, flax, sunflower, pumpkin, sesame and poppy seeds.)
- 2 tbsp nutritional yeast
- 1 tsp oregano
- ½ tsp garlic
- ½ tsp chilli flakes (optional)
- ½ tsp salt
- ⅔ cup chickpea flour (besan)
- 2 tbsp of olive oil
- ⅓ cup warm water

Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 320 F (160 C fan-forced)
2. Place all the dry ingredients into a bowl
3. Add the olive oil and water and stir well until all thoroughly combined. Allow to rest for 5 minutes.
4. Pour the mixture on some baking paper
5. Cover with a second piece of baking paper
6. Using a rolling pin or bottle, spread the mixture to approximately 0.25-0.5 cm thick
7. Remove the top layer of baking paper.
8. Cook in the oven for 20 to 25 minutes.
9. Allow to cool down and break apart with your hand and enjoy!

Looks amazing can I do it with a different type of flour. If so, what type (non wheat…) would be good to try?
