One thing I learned about the gold Nobel Prize is that in the lead up to WWII, one Noble Prize for Chemistry winner in Germany heard that the Nazi's were confiscating everyone's gold. So what he did was dissolved his medal in Aqua Regia, or hydrochloric acid and nitric acid, becoming a nice bright yellow liquid in the beaker that he put on his shelf. When the Nazi's came, they never found it, and never knew it was liquid gold. When the Nazi's were defeated, the Nobel Prize winner simply put sodium metabisulfate in the solution to drop or precipitate the gold back into brown sludge. One quick melt later and it was a gold bar again. He took it to the Nobel committee and they recast that gold back into the famous medallion. At least that is the story, and I don't know if it is absolutely true, but I still found it fascinating. Don't mess with a chemist's gold! 🤣

I made a lot of money off of gold and human beings infatuation with ; but I never dug one once out of the ground. I worked for a company that manufactures underground mining equipment sold around the world used to dig gold any other minerals out to be used by humans. Gold puts bread & butter on my table, that’s important.

“Fine gold” means pure gold (ie 999, or 9999 etc), it has nothing to do with with whether it’s a powder or not!

I go out regularly panning in different streams and rivers here in NC and bring buckets of the material home to pan and sluce in my shop, I'm actually just finishing up a sluce that I made as we speak and panning some material. Great show by the way.

I worked for a tree service in Snow Camp N.C. and one of the employees told me he has the first mine in America on his property. I of course didn't believe what he was telling me, even though I went to his property and seen what appeared to be a mine that had collapsed about 10 feet from the entrance. Over the next week I researched what he told me, and as it turned out, it was all true! And to see this video brings back memories.

Fine gold isn’t gold found on the surface of the earth or in river beds. The small pieces of gold you’re referring to are called placer gold. Fine gold is pure gold that has been refined to at least .999 pure. So pure, 24k, solid gold is fine gold.
