I always assumed that props always countered each other to stop the plane tying to rotate. Thank you for clearing this up.

The last statement is funny, if one prop goes down, is it really matter the remaining one was in sync with or exactly countering the downed one?

Well, to cancel out Torque roll, many aircraft used Contra rotating props or props on both the engines move the other directions, this practice is really popular in rc aviation

The only issue I have with the video is in regards to them saying that if they lose an engine that it would cause a plane to yaw. That is true. But the way they said it seems like they're saying it would be worse if both engines were turning the same direction. In the event of an engine failure it would not matter

Counter rotating props have the advantage of negating p-factor, or a twisting of the airframe from torque, causing a yawing moment. This means that when a pilot "slam throttles", the airplane would go straight without any need of rudder or aileron input.

The video states that if the airplane lost one engine there would be a yawing moment, and that's true. But that is due to asymmetric thrust, not p-factor.

To better simple flying. Do better.

Strange, on ships it's always two directions with two propellers

I'm not 100% sure, but, I'm pretty sure most modern prop aircraft have counter rotating props. The main reason is saftey. If one goes out (especially on takeoff) the plane won't flip onto its back which is exactly what it will want to do.

i thought this: counterclockwise: startup, clockwise: after startup, and then go back to counterclockwise then repeat
