Ford’s Mustang Mach-E AWDs Compared | PREMIUM vs GT vs GT PERFORMANCE

Ford has been delivering their first ground-up electric SUV for the better part of a year now and it’s great! It’s so good, we bought a premium AWD Model and added it to our fleet of electric rentals. But when we tried to answer the question of whether or not the Mach-E was a true “Mustang” we had to say no. It just wasn’t sporty enough and, because it’s electric, many of the standard Mustang modifications required to make it sportier were out of the picture. So now Ford is finally producing two quicker trims, the GT and GT Performance and Ford gave us a chance to compare the models and we get a chance to see if we would do it differently if we were to do it all over again.

*Stay tuned for more updates about Charge Across America in our Mach-E with @MissGoElectricstarting October 31st!

What a perfect review. Quick, informative, and to the point. Ordered the non-performance GT since I live in Pittsburgh, and wanted all season tires, the orange stitching which looks much better IMO (isn't in the performance) and didn't want the extra cost. Wasn't a fan of the seats in performance, but wanted the rims. I Am really happy to see you didn't notice much of a difference with acceleration and suspension. I was hoping it wasn't too stiff or a massive difference for acceleration vs non-performance. I was going to change my order to the performance package but after this video I will keep my original build date for November! Thanks again, you really helped me out and now I look forward to my delivery now.

I would have to agree with you. Too much bolstering can get really uncomfortable.

Red brake calipers, illuminated pony, carbon style front facia. Gt badging. An front splitter. Gt over premium exterior differences

I've been looking forward to seeing a review involving all of the AWD extended range variants of the Mach-E. Absolutely great review!

Agreed. Just drove the GT and GTPE back to back and bought the GT. Hands down a better ride, all season tires and more comfortable as a daily driver. The extra bolsters in the GTPE hit me right in the shoulder blades.

Thank you for agreeing with my choice to order the GT over the GT Performance, for similar reasons.

Great review. Seeing this video after a year when I am looking to get a Mach-E, and still haven't made up my mind on it because of the charging infrastructure. Any pointers there?

Is the glass roof or the normal roof lighter?

So is the GT non performance worth it?

for the added cost to go to a GT from a Premium, I just didn't feel it was worth it. very happy with our premium but I will be swapping out some suspension parts,

I've been driving the GT nonperformance for two months. My wife will not get in the car again if I fully accelerate, once was enough for her.

I do not think that you are the one to say if the Mach-E deserves the Mustang badge. That is Ford's prerogative.

How well does the GT (non PE) attenuate the oversteer people comment on in the Premium? And did you have traction/stability control on or off? Thanks in advance for your reply. I'm trying to decide between a Premium and a GT (non-PE) and the understeer is an issue (mostly because of the screaming of the tires).

Interesting. You came to the opposite conclusion that Kyle at Out Of Spec did, but I find it encouraging.
I took a Premium big battery AWD that I had on order for a test ride and could not tolerate the pogo-like suspension. My wife could not stand the squishy flat seat (how to put this... she ain't small and waif-like).
The non-performance GT may be the answer for us if the rear damping has improved over the base model. Unfortunately these are in high demand and it may be years before dealers have demo units.
