Comparing BOTH Planet Coaster Games - Planet Coaster 2 POV

I build a coaster in Planet coaster 1 to compare it in Planet Coaster 2! So today we do just that, building it again in Planet Coaster 2.

People are always focusing on fidelity when it comes to graphics, but what’s even more important is art direction, and that’s much, much better in Planet Coaster 2. Lighting plays a big part in this, but also stuff like the color palette, which is far more welcoming and easy on the eyes in PlanCo 2. Frontier did a great job, imo.

The terrain and pathing make it look sooo much better. Looks like it’s actually placed within a park and not just in some random pit!

Planco 2 Looks definitely more modern, but I still don't like the coaster sounds tbh. Especially a b&m invert should have a little roar

Tbh about the sound it should have added the real sound that suche coasters roar sounds it makes (B&M) its gives me goosebumps !!

I find the colour treatment in PC1 less vibrant but it adds to the realism to be less cartoony.

Honestly aside from the more bright colors of PlanCo 2 i can't tell the difference between the two. I didn't even notice when you switched from 1 to 2 until i noticed the different UI.

I straight up don't care about the graphics improving, I just want to know if they fixed the bug that caused the engine to slow down severely when your park gets to a certain size. Hardware upgrades couldn't even fix that problem.

This was genuinely really helpful for me. I wanted to get back into roller coaster tycoon games but didnt know which planet coaster game to get. I was worried that there was a huge difference between 1+2 quality wise....

Not only is there not really a drastic difference, but PC1s water, rocks & trees seem a lot more realistic whereas 2 look like plastic toys. I also preffer the softer, less garish lighting and colouring of 1. Only yeesh thing was the dull horizon.

This isnt me being malicious, or complaining (though with such little difference, if i was a PC fan i would definitely be upset) but just being honest. Thanks so much! Really helpful video!

B&M invert 2 seater doesnt exist its the giovanola 2 seater which is also in planco 2

Has anyone else noticed the scale of PC2 being much better? I noticed immediately that 100 feet finally felt tall, people are much smaller and fit in better with the environment, and scenery is much larger and especially trees are more accurate to how large they should be in comparison to the coasters

I'm so sorry, but I really couldn't tell which game was which at the end, which made me kinda sad. Im not writing this to be negative or anything, I really just didn't know and I watched at least 10.000 hours of planco content in my life

I loved the side by side comparison. Like all games there will be pros and cons. I personally love the bright vivid colors of Planet Coaster 2. I'm excited to jump onto the game tomorrow!
