Made from volcanic rock that forms when lava rapidly cools, an obsidian blade can be as thin as 3 nanometers, making it far sharper than the blades used in surgery. However, despite its extraordinary sharpness, obsidian lacks durability due to its brittleness, making it impractical for everyday tasks like cooking. For this reason, it cannot replace a well-crafted kitchen knife.
